A common misconception about meditation is that this is uncommon. Almost every single person I've ever talked to about beginning meditation just finds that it's impossible to turn off their mind. For years that was my reason for not exploring meditation myself.
There's something that begins to shift when you commit for a month or more and it begins to feel possible. Those first weeks, though, are hard for everyone.
