As utterly annoying as I find so much of the "wokeism" and language changing and demands for pronouns, I actually don't consider the democratic party to represent a more serious threat to censorship. I think if the most progressive progressives had their way, it would be pretty annoying. We'd need to do some walking over eggshells and apologizing for misusing the R-word. But the censorship that's happening on the other side of the aisle appears far more egregious to me. The words they're cancelling aren't the ones that hurt feelings, but the ones that inform about our very history. Even today in Florida, there are schools whose history books have begun to omit key parts of history and mentions of "slavery," teaching instead that the institution actually helped black people in many regards. I don't think the Democratic party actively wants to rewrite history, even if their agenda is probelmatically "woke" on some issues.
