“She’s like talking to a brick wall.”

“But what are homes made of?”

“That’s a good point… I never thought of it like that. I guess that’s why I’m so sad. I feel lost.”

“Breakups are never easy.”

“This one is just so much harder than I expected. I knew she wasn’t the one… but she was sweet.”

“Sometimes it’s the sweet ones who are the hardest to let go. Dated a girl for four years once before who I’m pretty sure never finished middle school. Could barely make sense of a calculator. Sweet as can be though. She was one of the harder ones to let go.”

“Four years… really?”

“Yep! Hardly regret a day of it.”

“Do you regret leaving her?”

“I don’t… I still miss her sometimes though. It was probably for the best.”

“Do you think this is for the best?”

“It’s tough to say. You can never truly know with these sorts of things. It’s a big world out there though — I’m sure you’ll find someone else. Plenty of fish in the sea, as they say.”

“Do you believe in soulmates?”

“Naah, never did much. In this big world, I think there are a hundred — hell, even a thousand people that could feel like that perfect someone.”
