…rly real, with an amazing central performance from Sandra Bullock, is nothing less than miraculous. For once, the choice to go the full CGI route is completely justified, as it enables certain shots that would be otherwise impossible to achieve, giving the film an astonishingly immersive, stomach-flipping potency. It really needs to be seen on a screen the size of the Sahara to be properly appreciated.

Could not agree more. Seeing that in theaters for the first time in 3D was just a groundbreaking and almost unparalleled experience. The single best instance of 3D use I've seen to date.
