Good catch. I prefer your edit to what I have. Regarding the paragraph being unnecessary, I can see both sides on that one. The piece was a little more succinct initially, but I had an editor tell me it would be useful to include more examples. I think they make it a more valuable piece for anyone less familiar with some of these concepts to begin with.
