I can understand taking issue with NYT, but Trump made fact checking into a task anybody at all can easily do with his sweeping and specific claims. Trump said he offered 10,000 troops to Pelosi before Jan 6th. He did not. She explicitly asked for the National Guard's intervention, as did McConnel.
"Biden wants to raise taxes by 4 times" he claimed. No Biden does not.
He said Democrats believe in abortions being performed after birth. That could not be more outrageously further from the truth.
Many of the claims he made were specifics about how well the country was doing under him, and how horribly it's doing under Biden, all of which can be easily Googled, from job creation to the economy to the amount of illegal immigrants we're allowing into the country.
Trump claimed "during my four years, I had the best environmental numbers ever." No he did not. He rolled back environmental regulation.
He repeatedly made claims like “He’s the one that killed people with a bad border and flooding hundreds of thousands of people dying and also killing our citizens when they come in.” The task of debunking his words is no challenge. These numbers are available to the public and almost across the board, they're not what Trump stated.
