I actually wondered whether Cocaine Bear was an appropriate comparison. It's a weird movie, but a far simpler one. Having seen Saltburn and Poor Things only a few weeks apart, though, I'd stand by that comparison. The two had quite a lot of similarities for me. I'd say that New York Times point you mentioned (which is spot on) could be applied even more to Saltburn in a lot of regards. I was outright perplexed by certain decisions made with that one.
