I appreciate you sending this in, although I admit I'm a little curious whether you realized I was the author of one of those articles you lambasted. I'm not sure if you read that piece or not, but I think you might actually agree that it's a pretty fair case of bipartisan humor. It's not overly damning of Trump and it makes fun of Biden, Sanders, and Newsom as well as Republicans. I'd even say exploring the bipartisan scenario was oddly therapeutic.

I can't speak to each of those cases you mentioned, but I will speak on Muddyum's behalf. This a unique circumstance in modern politics. You don't get to claim essentially "it's inappropriate for you to call Trump a felon and rapist and insurrectionist" when he objectively is those things. He is an adjudicated rapist. And the people who voted for him voted for a rapist even if they'd have a hard time admitting that. But it was a court of unbiased jurors that found him liable of that assault. He did incite a riot on the capitol on the day that votes were being certified when he could have chosen any other location or day. Instead, he opened the door to elected politicians needing to flee the rotunda while confirming Biden's win.

"Perhaps if she weren’t my daughter, I’d be dating her," is an objectively weird and indecent thing for any man to say, on TV in an interview, and is far more damning than many of those instances that have elicited "pedophile Joe" allegations from the Right. You seem so steeped in your own worldview that you’re struggling to look at this objectively. Trump is the bully. He has always been the bully. The number of quotes I could pull of him being cruel and indecent to others could stretch entire pages. And he’s your presidential candidate. The man you voted for. Not just some journalist or writer on Medium. The soon-to-be-president who calls women pigs and dogs and brags about grabbing them by the pussy. So I can’t muster a lot of sympathy toward the "woe is me, they called our Hitler-imitating, orange, felonious rapist a Hitler-imitating, orange, felonious rapist" crowd.
