I do tend to find that independent voters have some of the most reasoned rationales for voting the way they do. Many democrats and republicans just blindly vote for their party. I definitely see where you're coming from on this. And there are some huge ironies and shortcomings with the Biden administration.

I'd be curious to hear more of your thoughts about assaults on free speech. To me this seems to be an issue on both sides of the aisle. But as you say, neither administration really amounted to a huge difference in my own life (minus Trump's totally bungled reaction to the pandemic and public refusal to wear a mask.) 2020 was the first time in my life where it felt undeniably clear that the person leading our country was a danger to all of us. I haven't yet been convinced that Biden represents nearly that grave a threat.
