I don't think I'd ever actually heard of her before, but as another bilinguist I thought these were pretty spectacular. I consider rap to be a huge influence on my own writing, and like you, went through a long period of losing interest before rediscovering it again.

I wrote a piece over a year ago about how rap inspired me to write if you're at all curious! Eminem and Lupe Fiasco were probably the two that had the biggest influence on me. Sometimes I'm a little discouraged by how much of the broader language community seems to thumb their nose at hip-hop like it isn't ine of the most lyrical genres of all.
