I don't think people worry nearly enough about how vulnerable our digital lives all are. I think a lot about the dangers an earth quake, solar flare or cyber attack could pose. I have so much invested in all of it myself that there's a lot of self-convincing and denial that goes into my day to day life online. The prospect of losing everything I have saved to the cloud is hard to even fathom. And yet, I don't really believe that this whole digital ecosystem we've created will even stand the test of time. There's been this slow-building sense of vulnerability that I've had throughout most of my life. It's hard for me to imagine this won't all collapse at some point.

Thanks so much for reading, Patricia!! So Glad you think this one stood the test of time! I'm shocked at how different my writing here sounds.
