I had that same thought while watching it about Oppenheimer. In addition to the obvious war comparisons, there was this one moment of silence in the theater during Godzilla that felt almost exactly the way as the atomic bomb test in Oppenheimer. Though I don't quite think this one has earned all of the movie of the year praises it's gotten in the same way as Oppenheimer, it was definitely my favorite Godzilla movie yet. Great review, Simon!
