I hadn't realized just how much I didn't know about Dark Mode! Even as a religious user myself, I thought the only real differences were aesthetics and eye strain. That's so interesting that it initally caught on because of developers, and that it actually makes a difference with battery life! I'm surprised that never even occurred to me. I'd love if Medium introduced a Dark mode for desktop. Every app on my phone that has one I've made a point of turning it on for. Truthfully, I never use light mode at all, given the choice.
