I really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment, Christine! I had actually worried myself that those last couple paragraphs may seem a little bitter. I considered taking a step back, but when so many of these shootings and senseless acts of violence within this country are carried out by christian extremists, I think it’s important to remember these parallels.

I don’t believe that the thinking behind these more extreme sects of christianity is very different than it is for the taliban and al qaeda. I think the crucial difference is that they don’t have as much power. The rhetoric of elected christian politicians in this country have drifted into something incredibly fascist in these past few years though and it concerns me a lot.

I feel pretty strongly that what I said is true, even if worded a little pointedly. Thanks again for reading!
