I think it's all about how victory is measured. In even a high school debate, I think it's very possible that Biden would have been declared the winner strictly because Trump recited so little in the way of actual facts. That's not to say Biden's performance was anything shy of dismal. But if the other man on stage could hardly be bothered to say a single thing that was true, declaring him the winner spits in the face of what debates even are. If citing real facts and information is any measure of success in a debate, which I still think it is in many many peoples' eyes, then Trump's performance was also one of the worst of all time.
