I think personally that the Republican party has drifted so far to the right that I take some solace in this instability. I hope that the more moderate wing of their party can prevail over the Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene half, but I think this situation is entirely their fault. If they hadn't spent the last 8 years appeasing extremists, McCarthy's situation would have never been so impossible. It's hard to imagine his replacement doing much better in this situation. As much as I don't like McCarthy, I certainly don't envy him.
