I think that our views are more or less the same regarding censorship. There's hardly a case where I'm for it. My stance in the piece would essentially be: movies have gotten a lot more violent and viewers are more numb to that. Do you disagree with that aspect?

Personally, I'd say I'm biased toward the gratuitously violent. When watching Game of Thrones and Hannibal recently, I've been struck at how much happens within these shows that many people would really struggle with. A few months ago I was watching The Usual Suspects at a hostel that I was staying at in North Carolina after we debated over a movie we could all stand. We assured the 70 year old in the group that it was more or less violence and gore-free.

She cringed and covered her eyes before walking out on the movie completely after a couple of scenes I thought were totally benign. My parents are that same age and do significantly better with that kind of thing, but it definitely seems to me like there's a difference between what older and younger generations tolerate and seek out in the graphic violence department. Plenty of games I play and movies/shows I've liked they just haven't been able to stomach even being in the same room as sometimes.

Curious if you've observed differently! And feel free to send over some links. It's possible I'm biting off more than I can chew, but I don't plan to offer anything too incredibly deep and comprehensive if I do end up putting it together.
