I think The Exorcist is the only one on this list I'd take issue with! I'm sure it was terrifying when it released, but today it takes some suspension of disbelief for me to consider that one scary. I can see your point, though. I always wish I could go back and watch some of these movies through eyes that hadn't been so spoiled by modern effects. It's rare for me to find myself truly scared by many pre-1980 releases sadly.

A few of these I still haven't seen, so I'll definitely be taking you up on some of these recommendations!
