I totally agree with how annoying the weaponization of that word has become, but at the same time, just because the term is annoyingly ubiquitous these days doesn't mean that misinformation isn't shaping our political moment. Most of the Republican party held verifiably false beliefs about the economy, immigration, and crime in this country as they walked into voting booths and if that weren't the case, and each Trump supporter instead had a totally accurate picture of where the country stood in those regards, I think there's just no chance Trump would have won. I'm a little surprised by this take but definitely see where you're coming from.
