I wasn't clear on that either. One possibility is that they mean links that won't expire after a single use. For example, if I share a friend link with my friend Gabe, I wouldn't mind if Gabe was then allowed to share that link with friends of his. But the current friend link doesn't allow for that. I agree that any old reader shouldn't be allowed to generate one.
