I'm not sure you've fully convinced me that it's a bad movie, but you make some damn compelling points! Certainly it'll be harder to enjoy on a rewatch now hahaha.

I really enjoyed the levity around the alien and quarantine plot. I agree that the emotional side of the film wasn't well explored whatsoever, though. Part of what I liked about this one that I didn't like about Poor Things was that, while it was equally strange, if not more so, it wasn't nearly as dark. The humorous undertone throughout the movie made it a lot easier for me to forgive its strange and muddled ambitions.
