I'm on the other side of the spectrum over here with Super Smash Brothers. I've never actually competed in tournaments, but I've been playing since the 64 days and it's the one game I've really taken to competitive extremes. I wish I had the resolve to learn mortal kombat from scratch. The amount of memorization that goes into some of those combos is pretty unbelievable.

It's always so frustrating to see how little respect people have for e-sports. In many ways, I think the achievements in gaming now are more impressive than many real world athletic achievements. Great piece, Edward.
