I'm very thankful I never jumped into marriage at the same time as some of my friends. It's hard to overstate how much people grow and change in their 20s and 30s. As you say, if you're not growing and changing together, it just won't work. It's been bitter sweet watching more and more of my friends gradually approach the divorce phase of life.
