Initially, I wanted him to stick out the race, too. But I did also waiver quite a bit before he ultimately made that final decision. And now, I'm glad he made that decision.
I think that Trump is simultaneously regretting Vance as a VP pick enormously, but also too proud of a person to go as far as admitting he made a mistake by picking a new one.
I totally agree that age is what you make of it. My dad's 72 himself and, having spent a career doing what he loves (playing music), he looks and behaves 2 decades younger than Biden and Trump. I think he'd make a spectacular leader if he ever wanted to give up what he loves in favor of something he'd almost certainly hate hahaha.
