It'd be one thing if we had to put together a whole bibliography for each piece, but as you say, it's too easy to just take a minute, find a source, and hyperlink it in. It's too easy not to do, and it really adds credibility to any piece at all. Even if where the hyperlink leads is bs, it still looks better than omitting it completely.
