It's always so sad to read this kind of post. I'm at least glad you've decided that you can remain on Medium in some capacity. It's hard to overstate what a grind the first couple of years can be, and it's improved in some regards in that way, but it's still nothing remotely easy. Also, as far as I know, there's no reason you can't reapply for the partner program.
Regarding you not "seeing any pubs" do you mean that when you attempted to add a piece to a publication, you saw none listed? It's happened before for me that a writer has been accidentally unadded from the publication once or twice for reasons unclear, but you just inspired me to double-check if that was in fact the case and I can assure you you're still at least list as a writer on my end.
Where I thought things stood with that Trump piece was that you had planned to resubmit it once you'd made a few edits, if I'm thinking of the right draft. I was actually a little surprised (but not hurt) to receive notice you published a piece that I had "collaborated with you on" as Medium phrases it.
Hope this can all be chalked up to a misunderstanding! You're more than welcome to submit your work in the future. I've begun writing on Substack, too, under the same name, so feel free to give me a follow and I'll follow you back. It may ultimately amount to more, but for now, I find Medium to be the place that feels home. Regardless, I wish you success in whatever you ultimately decide!
