It's certainly something I've seen done well before! Among the best examples for me are probably Black Mirror, Her, Mr. Robot, and Bo Burnham's Inside. I haven't seen/read a few of those ones you mentioned, but you've got me curious to check them out! As much as I feel as though it's a hard subject to get right, among my all-time favorite movies and stories are those rare ones that do.
