It's hard to imagine any one person being objective about a list of the all-time greats, but that list of 100 authors from 54 countries sounds as though it might at least get somewhere close. I didn't know such a list existed! Seems like a much better resource than any I've read before. Although, as you say, I tend to pretty quickly feel daunted when looking at most any list. I'm happy to muster even 5 books in a given year sadly.
