It's sad sometimes how easy it is to get caught up in that comparing mentality and forget that the whole reason we ever started writing to begin with. Joining Medium myself, I never expected pay or recognition. I always try to remember that when I hit new lulls and valleys. Sometimes I still get caught up in self-defeat, but at the end of the day, I have no regrets about beginning this whole creative endeavor.
