I've felt since middle school as though whatever world we're living in is clearly incompatible with the idea of a god that's all loving, all powerful, and all knowing. They're mutually exclusive. If god is all-powerful, then he's not all-loving to allow this sort of suffering. And if he's all-loving and knows suffering is unnecessary, he's just not powerful enough to do anything about it.

As an adult, I believe in a higher power of some sort. whatever that is, though, I think is far beyond the grasp of our, or any religion's understanding.
