Mario Kart on the DS was an absolute peak experience hahaha. Glad you understand! On the school bus everyday everyone with a DS would basically just spend the entire ride in an 8 person grand prix with a bunch of friends and strangers. Definitely some of the most fun mutliplayer gaming I've ever done.

I think you're right about the frame rate. I've heard it isn't worse than Botw, but that hasn't been my experience. I'm still shocked that the game runs at all on this 2017 console, but I'm hoping Nintendo comes up wiith a way to play this game at an improved performance, whenever they do finally end up coming out with the switch 2 lol.
