My intention here isn't to disempower people by pointing out that it's all been said, but rather point out that if we always strive to say what's never been said on this subject, then political writing would cease entirely. I don't think for example that you're the first to address that point about dog lovers and Trump (I've heard my mom point that out actually, but I know she never put it into words as eloquently as you could). Even if you're making a point that's been addressed at some point in the past, that detracts nothing from your voice and the way that you formulate your ideas.
