Not always, but being a writer can be a similar challenge sometimes! One time recently, a few friends and I were tasked with writing a skit and one of them basically just said "you're a writer... isn't that what you do?" as though all writing is the same thing and I could just come up with an idea on the spot lol. Being a philosopher must be really frustrating in that way. Even as someone who loves philosophy, I admit I don't have the clearest picture of what they actually "do."
