Of all the changes that have been made in my time on medium, I've been happy with most. Some I've been a little ambivalent about but I've still always tried to remain cautiously optimistic. This change is the first that makes almost no sense to me.

Judging the worth of pieces based off of the amount of claps, comments and highlights that they get learns nothing from the mistakes of other social media giants. It's as if Medium thinks that the reels, tweets and posts with the most engagement are actually what's most valuable and informative.

I think the Boost system and a lot of the changes around it brought some major improvements to the platform, but this new update, in addition to removing key elements from the stat page, is definitely one of the more perplexing decisions I've seen made here. I hope there's some sense in it that I'm not seeing, but for now I'm hoping for a return to the form of a few weeks ago for Medium.
