Publication owning can present its challenges sometimes. I've gone back and forth myself about whether the articles I'm placed next to diminish the value of my own work. In a couple cases, I stopped publishing places that seemed as though they were uniformly publishing garbage. But on the other side of that coin, many people approach medium like a blog, or with the skills of someone learning english as a second or third language, and I do sometimes still feel compelled to give them a platform. So as much as I'd love to only publish the material that resonates deeply with me, it's sometimes a hard line to toe as a publication owner.
