So are you disputing that January 6th was about keeping Trump in power when he lost the election? If he had remained in power, and elected officials hadn't been allowed to legitimize the Biden's victory, it would have represented the end of our democracy. Downplaying the "Hang Mike Pence crowd," which very much did have weapons and plans, isn't going to get very far with people who are familiar with the footage and the copious public evidence available from that day.

Even if they hadn't managed to keep Trump in office through the riot itself, there was that entire behind-the-scenes plan with the alternate slate of electors. It's not hard to find documentation of it. The whole "nothing to see here, no overthrow attempted" argument just isn't one that's supported by that facts.
