So far, I've felt largely similar. I think I have noticed a resurgence in people addressing what it is that we're facing. But it's hard for me to reconcile that gain with the very real threat that Trump appears to pose to free speech. I'd love to be wrong about my paranoia. But given Trump's history of attacking journalists, sowing misinformation, and discrediting dissenters, I fear that this heightened dialogue we see now will ultimately devolve into a stark and totalitarian quiet. Especially if things continue at this current pace. I can't deny the issues on my own side of the aisle, but the threat to democracy Trump presents has left me pretty firmly in the "lesser of two evils" camp.
