Sorry for the delayed reply! So would you not have felt similarly about the internet if you'd been born in another time? I think that if I was born in 1900, the concept of the entirety of human knowledge floating through the air around us I would have called outside of matter, time sphere, etc. AGI strikes me now as the logical progression. If information technology is growing rapidly, and AI is improving even more rapidly and being built off of more and more and more datapoints, I don't see why the concept of AGI is impossible exactly. 100 years ago, I might have thought so. Today, well, look where generative AI was a year ago and where it was today. It terrifies me a bit honestly. What do you think continued rapid improvement will lead to?
