Thanks for reading, Mat! Did you ever see the post-credit scene of Deadpool 2 when he killed off the prior Deadpool portrayal? (are you talking about the one where he lost the ability to speak?) I'm not quite as well-versed on the X-men movies, but I have seen most of them at least once.

I think my opinion of Marvel movies largely stems from the specific way I got into the universe, and if I'd grown up on the shows or comics, I might find some of these issues you mention a little more bothersome. But discovering the world well into my adulthood, I think the self-awareness within these movies is especially important. I like that they can laugh at themself and acknowledge how outrageous and convoluted the whole universe has come. I also really like that they can acknowledge their own missteps.
