Thanks so much for the comment, Dan! It's a fairly good middle ground now, but there's still the occasional piece where I still have to ask myself. One of the places it's most tricky is when I'm scared of discouraging an author, or they're speaking English as a 2nd or 3rd language and it would simply be too much work to bring it up to a place where it's really a very passable standard of writing.

I think Medium faces a challenge not a lot of magazines and newspapers do in being international and having such wide range of skill between writers. Would you say as a reader, there's ever a time on here where you'd think less of the publication (or any publication in general) if they publish some work that's substandard for that reason? Would you just move on to the next piece and not think much of it?
