That's a really great point about Wizard of Oz. That hadn't occurred to me, but if fits so well that I wonder now whether that allegory was intentional.

That's true about the leader. It wasn't a very political movie, but it wasn't totally apolitical either. It certainly seemed as though the president was depicted in a very Trump-like fashion. Although, I'm not sure he was quite as on the nose as Don't Look Up's Meryl Streep.
