That's a really succinct and cogent way of putting it that I don't think I've ever heard elsewhere. Great job on this one, Esme.

I'm constantly going back and forth about just how scared I need to be about the future of AI. There are days where I can't help but side with the alarmists, and days where I read an AI draft and feel as though generative AI has hardly progressed an inch from where it was a year ago. It's the leaps in AI image/video/voice generation that scare me a lot more. I wonder why it feels as though some of those other branches of AI are improving by leaps and bounds while ChatGPT is still "weaving tapestries" and "diving into" subjects in the most predictable fashion imaginable.

One quote that I've heard a lot recently in reference to AI is that "this is the worst it will ever be." I'm not sure where the technology will be in a few years, but I think the Her reality isn't all that unlikely.

Thanks for sending this one in!
