The fear of death is definitely something I've struggled with throughout my life, too. Although, for me, t's rarely my own death that I fear now. I'm an only child, and since about 7 or so, too, I've been scared of losing my parents. Even at 27, the thought is still enough to terrify and depress me.

It's still not a fear I've gotten past entirely, but psychedelics have recontextualized it for me. I used to be very cynical about anything at all happening after death, but at this point I'm fairly convinced of an afterlife of some sort. I doubt we're headed toward anything as straightfotward as a heaven with pearly gates. But I don't think death is the end. And while psychedelics aren't something I can recommend to just anyone, the promise they show in helping people to confront the fear of death is incredible. Some of the experiences I've had with them have really changed my life.

Thanks for sending this one in, Kate!!
