The older that I've gotten, the more my beliefs have fallen onto a spectrum. I think people are very quick to fall into "all free speech is good" and "all damaging speech needs to be restricted" camps. There's definitely a room for middle ground.

In the past, I've almost always sided with Rogan, and felt that the left's reactionary responses to each time he has an even mildly questionable guest on the show has been telling and problematic. It does seem to stem from a "everyone I disagree with should be silenced" belief.

But at the same time, he has a colossal platform, and it can't be dismissed how many people have walked away with veritably false information, presented in a friendly, conversational light, after watching his show. I think Trump stands as the strongest case against Rogan and his podcast that I've seen yet. There was a time where I may have argued in his favor and at least said that he deserved a floor to speak, but his rhetoric has routinely been equivalent to yelling fire in a crowded theater. When he has the platform to speak, he's proven a thousand times over that he'll use it to tell lies, defame immigrants, and sow division.

At what point for you would someone's crimes be so heinous that you'd argue they no longer deserve the microphone? Does that line exist for you?

I agree with much of your stance here and appreciate you sending this one in. I admit that I have a hard time with nearly anything said on Trump's behalf, though, after all of these years that we've been given the opportunity to see who he is.
