This has always been at the crux of my struggle with organized religion. I can't help but believe that there are truths that fall outside of the reaches of science, but I've always felt like organized religions fall very short of describing the deistic sort of god that I can actually conceive of existing. Where I have trouble with monotheism is in the idea of a god that takes side in wars and meal plans.
