This is something that concerns me like crazy. The amount of time it took between me discovering ChatGPT for the first time and saying "ughh cmon AI, load faster!" was basically non-existent. We adapt way too quickly for our own good. And when it's things that make our lives effortless that we're adapting to, it just makes us all the more vulnerable when we deal with even day-long blackouts. An analogy I often return to is that we're careening rapidly up a cliff of technological innovation, and the higher we go, the worse the fall will be. Great piece, Axelle.
