This totally echoed my own sentiment. This moment calls for so much more than a typical politician's concession speech and neither of them rose to the challenge. It was the equivalent of them saying "No, worries, we'll try again next time!" knowing full well that this new leader will do whatever he can to make sure that there is no next time. I heard them using that typical political jargon and turned both of them off mid-speech.

It would look hypocritical not to concede, but I don't know that history will look well on their concession either considering all that's known about Trump and all that may come from these next couple of years. Even if he did actually win the electoral college, no one can tell me that his entire campaign wasn't built off of lies and manipulation. One of his prospective cabinet members bought a social media platform and weaponized it in Trump's interest. I almost feel silly now for believing Kamala ever had a chance. It's definitely a sad time to be an American.

Great piece, Claire.
