This was spectacular, Evelyn! A really fascinating exploration of something impossibly complicated. Do you personally believe that we're living in a simulation, or is that more just a fun thought for you? As much as I personally love the idea, I've never found a particularly compelling reason to actually believe it. A lot of the thinking just seems to hinge on the idea that computers grow at an exponential rate, but for me that still isn't an adequate explanation for the intricacies of the conscious experience. I wouldn't say it's impossible for us to create a game populated with self-aware beings somewhere down the road, but I have a very hard time believing that could be us. I will say I can't even begin to make sense of the two slit experiment though lol.

By the way, I'd love to add you as a writer for Thought Thinkers and/or Consciousness Corner if you're at all interested! I'd love to publish more of this sort of material. Really enjoyed your thoughts here.
