What a wonderful piece, Ivy! I could hardly agree more. As someone who grew up on social media, and in a lot of ways had my childhood and young adult years marred by it, it's such a blessing to be here on Medium. Even though it is social media, the connections made here are wildly unlike anything I've experienced through these other apps. I truly think that joining Medium stands as likely the best decision of my life. It's completely supplanted my relationship with other apps. And even though there is an addictive component to Medium, I've never in my life felt so inspired to be creative. At this point, there are over 500 pieces I'm almost certain I would have never written if it weren't for joining. And connecting with wonderful people like you has been the impetus for all of it!
