While I agree that de-escalation needs to happen, and some from both sides of the aisle, I also think to speak in sweeping terms about about bridging the divide has a way of missing which side contains more of the aggressors and people likely to commit real murder and violence. I think both sides do push each other to further extremes, but that how that manifests on the right is something more serious and threatening in nature.
